Custom Harley-Davidson 49er Project

Gold Rush was created in collaboration with Destiny Cycles, an award-winning British custom motorcycle builder with a long history of success at the UK's major custom bike shows. Inspired by their unique 49er engine concept, we developed a Gold Rush theme that celebrated the pioneers, machinery and spirit of the American gold rush era.

Every element of the Gold Rush project was designed to tell a story. The artwork features period steam locomotives from the Gold Rush era, traditional prospecting tools including picks and shovels, authentic Gold Rush poster artwork on the front oil tank, and a hand-painted scene of a prospector panning for gold on the rear mudguard.

The motorcycle was finished using vibrant candy colours over custom gold metal flake across both the frame and bodywork, creating incredible depth and sparkle. Every illustration, scroll and detail was airbrushed entirely by hand, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern custom paint techniques.

Working alongside Destiny Cycles, this project demonstrates how bespoke engineering and hand-painted artwork can come together to create a truly one-off custom motorcycle.

The Inspiration

The unique 49er engine became the starting point for the entire design. From that single idea, the artwork evolved into a celebration of the American Gold Rush, combining period imagery, handcrafted scrollwork and rich candy finishes to tell the motorcycle's story from front to back.
